we have no hosting contracts or agreements.
Setup
Charges
Unlike
other web hosting companies, 1stWeb do not charge
setup fees for domains, websites and email accounts.
No
Contracts
We are so
certain you will be happy with our services that there
is no need for 1stWeb to lock customers into long standing
contactual agreements.
All
our clients host with us on a month to month
basis, this gives our clients the peace of mind that
they can change service providers at any time should
they feel we are not living up to our promise of good
and reliable service.
Should
you for any reason decide to stop using our services,
all we require is that your account is fully paid up
and a 30 day written (email) notice informing us that
you no longer wish to make use of our services. No additional
charges are involved.
Domain
Registration
Should you wish to register a
domain through 1stWeb and have your site already developed
or developed by your own website designer, costs are
as follows:
- We register your
domain immediately and it will be active in ±4
hours
(applies to .co.za).
- .Co.Za
domains - once off R180, thereafter R100 annual renewal.
- .Com,
.Net domains - once off R200, thereafter R200 annual
renewal.

Domain
Parking
This
is where a client would like to register a domain, but
not have it active on the internet.
The only cost invloved is the standard registration
fee and the annual renewals. No monthly hosting fee
is payable.

There is no charge involved for
.co.za domain transfers to our servers.
.Com domains carry a transfer fee of R200.

As our aim is to
provide our clients with the fastest, most reliable
hosting solution with technology available today, our
servers are all locally based here in South Africa.
This allows us to control and maintain our own servers
and most importantly prevents the "slow bottle
neck" which is experienced with local hosting
companies hosting your websites in the US. A second
reason why we prefer to host locally, is that more and
more people are going the "wireless"
route for their Internet access, which in South Africa,
is not up to scratch, and slow connection speeds are
experienced, having your website and emails hosted overseas
creates problems such as, slow downloads and time outs.
A point to note:
You will find hosting companies offering very cheap
hosting services with unlimited FREE traffic/bandwidth,
BEWARE, you can almost be certain they are renting servers

Monthly Payments
There are no hidden costs, you only pay R99.00 per month
hosting fee via debit order, and 9c per Mb should you exceed your free
monthly 1.5Gig traffic/bandwidth.
Web hosting is paid
in advance and should you exceed your free 1.5Gig quota,
additional traffic usage is calculated from the 15th
to the 14th of the following month.
Invoices are issued between the 20th & 25th of each
month via email and hosting fees are payable via debit
order on the first working day of the month.
